Six faculty members were awarded endowed professorships this fall, as announced by Dean John Charles “Jack” Boger ’74 in July.
“ Our faculty is full of colleagues who are making outstanding contributions in scholarship, teaching and service, said Boger, in the announcement to the faculty. "One traditional means to celebrate such high achievement is the bestowal of an endowed professorship. Thanks to the efforts of former deans and our talented advancement staff, and especially thanks to the generosity of alumni and friends, we are blessed with an unusual number of endowed professorships within the School of Law.”
After consulting with faculty and staff, Boger submitted nominations to the provost, which were approved at a July meeting of the UNC Board of Trustees.
The professorships awarded include:
· Richard Saver , Arch T. Allen Distinguished Professorship
· Richard E. Myers II '98, Henry Brandis Professorship
· Jeffrey Michael Hirsch , Geneva Yeargan Rand Distinguished Professorship
· W. Mark C. Weidemaier , Ralph M. Stockton Jr. Distinguished Scholar of Law
